Children need help
On Cape Verde, unfortunately, the parents are forced to go to work. The minimum wage is 120 Euro per month. All those who have already visited the island and gone shopping know that it is almost impossible to feed a family with this income.
So all who are old enough go to work every day to pay for the apartment, food and other expenses.
Therefore we would like to do something good for the smallest ones, the children. They are forced to go to a kindergarten in the morning and are looked after there until the afternoon. The kindergarten teachers lovingly take care of the little ones aged 1 to 6 years.
Therefore our call to all visitors of the island, who has something left at home, crayons, marbles or anything else, please bring it with you. We will go with you to the "Barracas" to the kindergarten we support and you will hand it in directly there.
Animals
As divers it is in our blood to care for animals. It doesn't matter whether it's above or below water. Under water we can actively participate as divers and remove garbage from the sea before it is too small to be eaten by the animals.
On land it looks a little different, on Boa Vista there is always a shortage of water. There is almost no groundwater at all, everything comes from large desalination plants. Animals are not treated well, so almost every street or beach dog you will meet has an owner. They just don't care...
That's why we would like to introduce you to the only animal emergency aid on Boa Vista, Associazione Nerina.
Our two dogs come from there, have been lovingly cared for and have now had a new home for almost 3/4 of a year.
If you have collars or dog accessories and do not need them anymore, please bring them with you. If you want to make a donation, you can do so here on site or transfer the money. There is also a wish list on the website with medicines and other needs.
